Starcraft

For my friend Dan's birthday I made him a starcraft cake. I will use any excuse to bake. Since I am not an expert in anything starcraft, my sweet boyfriend helped me layout the plan for the cake and choose which race  and what dynamic to set the scene in.

Unlike the Angry Birds cake I actually planned the size of the characters so that they would fit on the cake. Also note the cut out levels of the cake. Dynamic. I was really feeling like I was creating a scene for this cake, and I wanted to incorporate the feeling of game play.

My artist friend, Josh, came over to help me with this creation. he put together the nexus (the pyramid), which turned out fantastic.

This is my favourite part of the cake, the enemy probe peering over the high ground. I came up with this all by myself, thank you very much, and I think it brings a level of action to this cake. 

Angry Birds

For my fathers birthday I decided to make him a cake like I have never made before. My friend Laurel helped me with the design and creation of this cake. Emily helped too.

I am using fondant for the first time here, and after a bit of research I think i did quite well. These are the characters up close:

George

Pig

They have the best names.
